Deputy Inspector General of Police Edward Mbugua has encouraged police officers to adopt a saving culture while still in active service.
Mbugua says the savings will play a huge role in their lives once they retire, urging them to set their priorities right.
The Deputy IG spoke when he officiated the opening of the GSU Recce company dispensary at the Ruiru Recce headquarters Wednesday morning constructed by the Kenya Police Deposit Taking Sacco.
“I laud the Sacco for assisting GSU come up with a modern facility, the Sacco is doing well in giving back to the society and this facility will be the first stop for officers seeking medical services before being referred elsewhere,” He said.
Sacco Chairman David Mategwa said they has done extremely well in giving back to the society especially in education and health.
He said the dispensary will serve officers at GSU Recce headquarters as well as the neighboring community.
“People see police as bad people because they aren’t aware of such projects. We have upgraded the facility to enhance access to health care not just for the police but for the community at large,” He said.
