Josh Loftis returned to Stockton and set up his petition-drive outside the Stockton License Office for the second time Wednesday, April 18.
Loftis represents New Approach Missouri, a campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri by getting a constitutional amendment on the November ballot. The organization wants to give voters in Missouri a chance to voice their opinion on the subject.
Loftis said this is at least the third election cycle New Approach has sought to get an item on the ballot regarding medical marijuana. A website, www.newapproachmissouri.com, has been set up to promote the drive and educate residents.
If enough registered voters sign the petition, an amendment will be on an upcoming election ballot giving voters a chance to amend the state’s constitution allowing use of marijuana for medical purposes, while creating a system of regulations and procedures for production and distribution.
The complete proposed amendment:

•Lists the medical conditions
