They are down the street from me, beyond convenient. My business would be locked in if they were even just okay but they’re far from it. Every time I go there it’s a mess. Understaffed and underprepared 10 times out of 10. I finally had my last straw, after I received a text on Monday, 25% off through Sunday. I went Monday and Wednesday and got the discount. Came back Friday and the sign is gone and I’m paying full price. Went online ordered, figured in the discount so I could have the correct amount of cash (card machines don’t work like always) but no discount. So now I’m supposed to go there atm and pay the $3 I was trying to avoid paying by going to the ATM? I feel like I’ve been cheated and lied to and that was the last straw. Should’ve come so much sooner but I have a high level of patience for this stuff. My advice to anyone reading this is to go somewhere else. The Forest just down the street is better in every single way.
Yeah, never again! I used to frequent this place because it was closed to where I lived. I liked the customer service so I continued to go there even after moving. No more. The new people they’ve hired are rude, entitled, obnoxious and condescending. I will never return there! I have spent a ton of $$ at this place and to treat me like I’m not worth their time just because I didn’t understand something? Nope. And absolutely no empathy for my situation (I was on a seldom had lunch break and was running late getting back and was also in pain) and no offers to help, just condescending remarks as I left frustrated. I’ve spent way too much money at that place to be treated like I was treated today. In fact, I remember the last time someone in a business treated me like that - it was about 8 years ago at one of my favorite restaurants- haven’t been back since. At least, that was the owner so he knew what was going on Management should realize they customer service goes a long way when it comes to loyalty bc you just lost a great customer all because some barely 20-something stocking boy wanted to try and act cute.
Tried to be quick with an online order. Waited in the front lobby, to wait in a line when I got in(waited forever while being first in line and more bud tenders than customers). After the only bud tender that was ringing people up finished with the only customer being rang up, I got up to get my order. I just wanted to pay with my card and be on my way. Nope, they want me to click on a link in a text and pay through that, or pay a ridiculous ATM fee and wait all over again.
Pre- roll selection not very good. The website doesn’t have everything they have in store and when you click pre-rolls it brings up gummies. The wait time used to be pretty quick but the last few times have been awful. I only come here on the days the forest opens late to do inventory otherwise I always go to the forest they are WAY better.
Closed early construction added 10 minutes on my trip but I checked the door with 5 mins left. Im in and out in 3 mins most times. Frustrating yes since it's a 30 min drive each way. There always next time.
Had an issue with not receiving the EXACT product that was purchased online… Devon (manager) totally helped us out without any hesitation! Luckily, the whole process was easy and he even threw in some extra product at a killer price to make up for the inconvenience. Highly recommend!
I bought 2 Local Cannabis brand carts that were half gram each. Both stopped working with about half of the oil left. I drove from Independence to swap one out, after calling and being told it would be taken care of. The manager on duty decided to argue with me about how much oil was left. I work in customer service and zero 🤬were given today. I won’t be back, looks like I’ll stick with Good Day Farms. Just wanted to try a new dispensary 💨

check your receipt before you leave. They just said they would honor the price on the app, get home and turned out they charged me extra. Lady that I called was rude and said nothing would be done and to come back ~40min drive and they still won't do anything.Avoid.
First visit here. Wonderful experience. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Clean and well laid out store. Will definitely be going back.
I couldn't have been more impressed. From online ordering, to the parking, to the store front, to the customer service all the way to the power of the flower. I've been searching for my spot in KC for a WHILE and I think I've may have finally found a home. Thanks for bring the West Coast our way & keep up the great work.
I would say 3.5 is more like it. The staff always seem to be very helpful, obviously normal joes off the street. They can’t really answer a lot of your technical questions, also super expensive most of the time. The supply they carry is top notch for sure.
I have been a regular costumer this year and I have been truly receiving nothing but great experiences every time I shop at Local Cannabis. The employees work very hard, make sure their costumers are satisfied with their needs and wants, and the team over all is extremely welcoming always. I am a loyal and happy costumer and I plan to keep coming back!
Friendly and knowledgeable always seems to be some kind of special or deal of the day plus I love the free hat they gave me I wear it pretty much all the time now even when I walk into other dispensaries.
They're great and helpful. Ready to answer any questions. Since they opened up to rec weed they've become pretty busy all the time. I suggest you order online before coming in just to make your visit quicker.
Clean, fast service and a great selection of smoking, gummies and everything that goes with them. I buy nighttime gummies to help with sleep and they work well. You can place orders online but you would need to know exactly what you wanted because the website is terrible with descriptions and details.
This shop was great very clean and friendly. Brooke was awesome. She seems to be well informed and to care about people. She helped me find what I wanted.
I understand rec are paying customers as well, but when a medical patient askes about certain strains that i use for medical purposes and I get told that they have a lot of other customers to help, I unfortunately won't be coming back. This was one of my favorite dispensary, but i will go somewhere that i don't feel like an inconvenience when i want to make sure I am getting what I need. Today I definitely didn't get what i needed and I felt rushed to hurry up and buy my stuff and go...I really hope that medical patients get the service we need without feeling like we are holding up the Rec patrons.
Just left about an hour ago and omg everyone is so nice and professional! I cannot remember the name of the girl who helped me and my sister tonight but thank you so much! Definitely will be regulars ☺️
I’ve about had it up to here with the attitudes and rude experiences I’ve had at this place. Ashley is a manager, and was extremely unprofessional and tried to undermine me when I called to ask a simple question about my reward points. Stephanie is rude as well. The receptionists at the front are amazing though, check you in quickly and give you a warm welcome, wish that warm energy was generated all around the store. Sadly I won’t be returning again
This was my first time here all was going good, I placed my order online and drove 35 minutes, once I got there they would not honor what they had advertised online... the manager was being rude.John Paul or whatever the short dude's name is. He really should speak nicely to your customers. We didn't come in there being rude to you or your staff..now the guy working up front was very nice. It would have very been helpful if any of the employee that kept going outside would have came inside to answer the phone calls. While he was trying to help a customer...Sadly I won't be returning
I love this place so much, literally the one and only dispensary I go too. Ashley and Tony are my favorite budtenders and always remember my name. I’ve been coming here for almost a year now and never disappoint me. I love this place and cannot recommend them enough, the manager always gets the newest and greatest products out there!
Unfortunately this place is not very helpful. They don't explain much when u ask questions and they act like your bothering them. So disappointing as it's so close to my house but thankful for all the other options in kc with friendly, helpful staff.
updated review: this place has gone down hill. I noticed on my receipt I was charged 80 and not 75 like advertised for a 1/4. when i up that they over charged me. he laughed at and said "sorry bro in the system it's 80" and promptly walked away. so the customer service sucks and they are over charging customers. don't go. I sure won't be back.
The staff were friendly, out on the sidewalk offering insight to their new location and grand opening menu offerings.... Sadly, I don't have a med card; all wasn't lost however, I brought my own 🎄👍🏻
Stumbled across this place because they have/had an amazing Memorial day sale. The lady working in the front was super welcoming and friendly. Fast service. Ordered online to pick up order. Pretty cool they are one of the few places in the area you can order online AND they have a live menu so you the inventory is correct. The guys in the back were a fun group. Super friendly service which I always appreciate. Locally owned company with local griwn medicines. Happy I found this little gem and I'll definitely be back in. Thanks for making my first time there a great one 🙂

Great small local dispensary. They have lots of hi-end products. Try the delicious sodas: they are very very very yum. The staff is very helpful and kind. A bunch of locals in a local shop. Come through and support good people doing great things and providing medicine for so many. Thank you Local Cannabis Company. You and your team are everyday heroes.
