Three people were injured in a crash on Highway 8 in Park Hills after they led police in a pursuit Tuesday afternoon.
Desloge Police Chief James Bullock said officers were made aware of a person who Park Hills Police were looking for in reference to a theft from a business there earlier in the day.
“My officer located the vehicle and made a traffic stop on it on South Desloge Drive,” said Bullock. “Then when a second officer arrived to assist with the traffic stop, the driver and passengers in the vehicle fled south on Desloge Drive.”
Bullock said they then turned west on Highway 8 giving chase and ended up in a rollover accident near Bannister City Trailer Court on Highway 8.
“The driver was trying to crawl out of the vehicle when they approached him and that was when he had to be subdued,” said Bullock. “The other two passengers were injured in the crash, then the driver, however, wound up being airlifted. It’s unknown why, because when he was in the ambulance he was talking and appeared to be alright. Then all of a sudden he started going unconscious. Which, we don’t know, but, he probably swallowed dope.”
