A 20-year-old Arnold man was arrested Feb. 8 for alleged possession of a large amount of marijuana, as well as some pills. In addition, he was found with $1,152 in cash believed to be drug proceeds, Arnold Police Detective Lt. James Jones said.
At about 4:30 a.m., after Arnold Police got a call about suspicious vehicles parked at West Highview Drive and Lonedell Road, officers found two cars there with their engines running. The Arnold man, who got out of one of the cars and started walking away after police arrived, allegedly was found with 251 grams of marijuana, the pills and the cash and was arrested, Jones said.
Police seized the drugs and cash as evidence. While the man was being booked, he allegedly made suicidal statements, so he was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County for evaluation, the repot said.
Depending on drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek felony drug charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Jones said.
He said the person in the second car was not found with anything illegal and was not arrested.
