BROCKTON — The building that once housed Papa Gino’s serving up cheese pizza and deep-fried appetizers is now home to a newly budding marijuana dispensary, Green Heart.
When you walk into Green Heart at 897 North Montello St., your ears are filled with R&B melodies and soulful harmonies that set the tone for the shopping experience.
Black cases filled with colorful packaging, cannabis-infused products and flower with different THC percentages await your arrival.
Once your age is verified and you are signed in, the security guard will set you up with a budtender, an employee who will guide you throughout your shopping experience.
Marrk Harris, the assistant manager, likes to call his budtenders “weedologists” mainly due to the extensive training and knowledge they all carry.
“We train our weedologist for two weeks followed by a 10-question test. They have to understand different concentrations and other forms of cannabis and cannabis-infused products,” Harris said.
The sister dispensary started in the snow-covered mountain state of Colorado and was one of the first dispensaries to open there, Harris said.
“We had the expertise of people who crossed the road before, and they showed us the ups and downs and helped us prepare. The pioneers of this business trained us,” Harris said.
